Speakers
Patrick Cavanagh leads the analysis for global wood pulp markets at Fastmarkets, where he has been modelling, writing & presenting on Forest product commodity markets for the last 10 years. He is a frequent presenter at pulp & paper industry events and has led multiple single client and market analysis studies. Pat holds a Master of Science in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Arts from American University.
Harri Pakkanen, Project Director at Valmet, has a wide experience of project management, production planning and cost estimating, and quality management in global projects. Since the beginning of 2018, Harri has managed large delivery projects for pulp industry in Valmet. Currently Harri is directing the delivery project of a complete pulp mill including also full-scope automation and flow control solutions to Arauco together with Valmet Brazilian project execution team.
Peep Pitk holds a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry and bioprocess engineering from TalTech, specializing in optimizing protein-rich side streams and anaerobic digestion processes. In 2016, he joined the Fibenol team and has been leading the company’s development journey. Starting with the concept of wood valorization on paper, he has guided the Fibenol team to the completion of a globally unique industrial demonstration plant for wood fractionation. The commissioning and ramp-up of this plant were completed in 2024, paving the way for the scale-up to an industrial-sized plant.
