Speakers

Riitta Silvennoinen is a professional in energy transition business and creating sustainable business opportunities from circular economy and energy transition. She has worked with energy transition, hydrogen, power-to-X, investment management process development and implementation and sector integration to find the most promising solutions, partnerships and technologies to build sustainable business & society. Riitta holds a Lic.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Chemical engineering from Aalto University. Her passion is to mitigate the climate change and biodiversity loss as well as create equal and sustainable society.

Juhani Lehtonen is the Founder and Chairman of GloCell Oy. Juhani’s passion is to combine sustainability and innovation and offer services and products to save the world. He has a strong background in engineering, sales, and marketing, with a focus on pulp and paper. He has published multiple articles and white papers on innovation trends and challenges. Juhani has a master's degree in pulp and paper engineering from Allto University and has studies in sustainability for Denmarks Technological University (DTU). He has more than twenty years of experience as a founder and chairman of GloCell Oy, a company that provides cutting-edge solutions for sustainable bioproduct industry.

Dr. Michael Weiss has graduated with a degree in process engineering from the Technical University (Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule) Aachen, Germany, in 1999. This was followed by doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Oxford, UK, which he has completed in 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he was working on an industry-host post-doctoral research fellowship at Veolia’s research center on water and effluent treatment near Paris, France. He joined Voith Paper as Development Engineer in Heidenheim, Germany, in 2006, working primarily on wet end chemistry, process simulation and process technologies during his first years with the company. Since then, he has held various expert and leadership positions in R&D and Technology at the sites in Heidenheim and Ravensburg in the south of Germany. In February 2022, he was promoted to his current role as Chief Technology Officer and member of the management board of Voith Paper.
