Meet the future talents of the forest industry, gain new perspectives on current topics and connect with industry professionals!
FBI DAY (Forest-Based Industries) is an annual student event that brings together around 250 students from across Finland, forest industry companies and industry experts.
The event gives students an excellent opportunity to learn more about the forest-based industry, hear about current topics from experts and companies, and build connections with working life. Throughout the day, students can explore different career opportunities, meet industry professionals and network with fellow students from across Finland.
Current Topics and New Perspectives
The theme of FBI Day changes each year, with the programme focusing on current developments, future opportunities and the ongoing transformation of the forest-based industry. The programme includes inspiring keynote speeches, company case presentations, panel discussions and plenty of opportunities for informal networking.
The future of the industry is explored from a variety of perspectives, including technology, sustainability, innovation, business and, above all, people.
Connecting Companies and Students
FBI Day provides companies with an opportunity to meet future professionals and showcase their work, career opportunities and the wide range of roles available in the industry.
For students, the event offers an easy and approachable way to meet companies and industry professionals. Each year, FBI Day brings together a diverse group of companies from the forest industry and related fields, representing a wide range of organisations, career paths and areas of expertise.
FBI Day Travels Across Finland
FBI Day is organised in a different location each year, bringing companies and students together across Finland. The event rotates between five higher education cities:
Oulu → Tampere → Lappeenranta → Turku → Espoo
The Next FBI Day
FBI Day 2027
- Dipoli, Espoo
- 27 January 2027
The programme and theme for FBI Day 2027 will be announced later.
Registration for students will open in December 2026. More information about the registration period will be available as soon as possible.
A Free Event for Students
FBI Day is free of charge and open to all students – you do not need to be a member of PI to participate.
For most participating students, joint transportation to the event will be arranged, and accommodation will also be provided for some participants. More detailed information about transportation and accommodation will be available when registration opens.
We aim to arrange shared transportation for all students whenever possible. If a student is unable to join the shared transportation from the designated departure location, we will, where possible, arrange additional stops along the route so that students travelling from other locations can also join the bus.
If a student is unable to use the shared transportation, they may arrange their own transportation using the most affordable reasonable option available. PI will reimburse the reasonable travel costs afterwards.
Students may also arrange their own transportation or accommodation at their own expense if they prefer an alternative to the arrangements offered by the organisers.
Join us to meet industry professionals, discover what is happening in the forest industry today – and find your place in its future!
