Welcome to the Afterwork event by PI – Finnish Forest Products Engineers’ Association and Kemira to explore Kemira’s new Innovation Center in Espoo and hear inspiring presentations on innovation, collaboration, and the future of wood-based solutions.
Time: 7.9.2026 at 15:00 - 18:30
Place: Kemira Espoo Innovation Center, Malleniuksenkatu 1, Espoo
Kemira's newly opened Innovation Center is located in Finnoo, Espoo, at the heart of EriCa Green Chemistry Park. The new Innovation Center continues more than 50 years of chemistry research at this same location, now in an environment that combines R&D expertise with modern, sustainable design. In the new facilities, 150 Kemira experts develop renewable solutions for water treatment and fiber-based processes and products – solutions that reduce and replace plastics in packaging, help conserve water, energy, and raw materials, and advance circularity. EriCa Green Chemistry Park provides a unique environment for this work: an ecosystem that brings together leading industry players, startups, and research institutions to advance sustainability and collaboration.
During the event, you will hear inspiring presentations on research, innovation, and the importance of collaboration in developing new solutions. The guided tour will give you an opportunity to explore Kemira’s research and innovation activities, learn about the needs of different customer segments, and gain insight into the design and construction project of the new laboratory facilities. The event will conclude with an opportunity to network with other professionals in the field.
The event is free of charge and will be held in both Finnish and English.
