Participation in the event is completely free of charge and all students based in Finland can register (you don't need to be a member of PI). We will also arrange transportation for most students and accommodation for some. Preliminary information related to these can be found below. Students may also arrange their own accommodation or transportation at their own expense if it differs from what is listed below.
Preliminary Transportation Schedule and accomodation information for Students
Attention! If multiple transport options are available from a particular city, we will send more detailed inquiries in week 2 of 2026. At that time, participants will be assigned to the different transport options.
Tampere University & Tampere University of Applied Sciences (bus)
- Departure from Tampere: 28.1. at 8:00
- Return from the afterparty venue: 29.1. at 00:00 (might be moved to a later time)
- Some train tickets for those who want to leave even earlier. The leaving time would then be at 20.34 from Kupittaa (Turku) train station.

Aalto University (two busses)
- Departure from Otaniemi: 28.1. at 8:00 (2 busses)
- Return from the afterparty venue: 28.1. at 23:30 (1 small bus) and 29.1. at 1:30 (2 busses)
- Some train tickets for those who want to leave even earlier. The leaving time would then be at 21.03 from Kupittaa (Turku) train station.

University of Oulu & University of Jyväskylä (bus)
- Students coming from Oulu will stay in Turku for two nights (27–29 January). Accommodation is covered, so there is no need to pay for the overnight stay. The bus will travel via Jyväskylä to Turku.
- Departure from Oulu: 27 January at 12:30
- Departure from Jyväskylä: 27 January at 17:15
- Return from the accommodation in Turku: 29 January at 10:00

South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) (Savonlinna)
- Students coming from Savonlinna will stay in Turku for two nights (27–29 January). Accommodation is covered, so there is no need to pay for the overnigh.
- Departure by train from Savonlinna: 27 January at 12:30
- Return by train from Turku: 29 January at 13:34

LUT University
- The students coming from LUT University will stay overnight from January 28th to January 29th. Accommodation will be covered, so there is no need to pay for the overnight stay.
- Departure from Lappeenranta by train: January 28th at 06:31
- Return from Turku by train: January 29th at 12:34.

Other Participants
- You may purchase your tickets independently, and PI will reimburse the costs.
- The travel expense form must be completed with the trip details, and all related receipts should be attached. Finally, the file should be sent in PDF format to donika.morina@puunjalostusinsinoorit.fi.

Accomodation (LUT University, XAMK and Oulu University)
Your accomodation is Turun Riento sports hall and its adjoining facilities (Uudenmaankatu 16, 20500 Turku). In addition to the hall, there is a kitchen, changing rooms, showers, two toilets, an entrance lobby, and a meeting room. The hall has regular evening bookings, so access to the hall is only available after 9:15 PM. All facilities are available for use overnight, but during the daytime only the meeting room is available, where items can also be brought earlier if needed.
If you arrive already on Tuesday the 27th, all belongings must be moved for Wednesday daytime either to the meeting room or to the bus, if one is in use. You will need to bring a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag, and any other items you wish to use for sleeping. On Thursday the 29th, the premises must be vacated by 10:00 AM.
