Antti Lindqvist, CEO of Finnish Forest Products Engineers’ Association (PI) and ForestBioFacts Publishing Ltd has been selected for inclusion in the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place in Minneapolis on 4 May 2025 at a gala held in conjunction with the international forest industry conference TAPPICon.
Doctor of Technology Antti Lindqvist has held leadership positions in the global forest industry for over 20 years, both in business and industry collaboration organizations. Dr. Lindqvist has worked extensively on forest industry’s strategy, foresight and attractiveness, enhancing skills and university education development, and improving the operating conditions of companies in the sector. Before his current role, Antti Lindqvist worked at Stora Enso for nearly 15 years, with responsibilities related to corporate strategies, investment and project planning, operations improvement, and risk management. Dr. Lindqvist earned his doctorate in corporate strategies and future scenarios for the steel and forest industries from LUT University in 2009. He holds also a master’s degree on paper technology from Helsinki University of Technology (today: Aalto University).
Since 2016, Antti Lindqvist has served as the CEO of the Finnish Forest Products Engineers’ Association (PI). As a network of over 2600 forest industry professionals and 50 companies, PI has consistently worked to improve the operating conditions of the sector, and under Dr. Lindqvist's leadership, the association's profile and visibility have reached new heights. Under his leadership, the association has also boldly digitized its services and e.g. created the world's largest digital learning environment for forest bioeconomy, ForestBioFacts. Antti Lindqvist represents the new leadership in our industry and is a sought-after keynote speaker, panellist, and jury member at international conferences and competitions, as well as a trusted partner both domestically and globally.
In his induction speech, Dan Goymerac, a representative of the PIIHF and TAPPI board member also highlighted Lindqvist’s and PI’s influence in increasing the attractiveness of forest industry and ensuring the paper industry remains as an employer of choice through the years of change for students and young professionals.
