Become a PI member, enjoy a variety of benefits!
To fully embrace and take advantage of the upcoming activities, we encourage you to become a PI member, if you aren’t already one. PI’s membership will benefit you in many ways: you’ll be able to enlarge your professional network, develop your skills and competences, and get support, both mental and financial, for your career and studies. Student members can join after studying two years at the educational institute.
Pulp & Beyond exhibition - a dedicated day for students on April 11, 2024
Pulp & Beyond 2024 – The New Era for PulPaper. Pulp & Beyond is the leading forum bringing together the latest forest-based bioeconomy innovations, products, services, and technologies, not forgetting the industry professionals.
The day includes an exhibition and insightful speeches in the Speakers Forum & Main Stage.
Additionally, PI will organize an excursion to Stockholm where we will visit Afry and Stora Enso. The cruise will depart from Helsinki on 11 April and return in the morning of 13 April. Registration starts on February 2, 2024.

New event series: Pulp & Breakfast - career morning
To support students in their career development, we are arranging new Pulp & Breakfast: career morning -events in our collaborating universities and universities of applied sciences around Finland. Join to hear career stories from alumni’s and presentations from companies operating in forest-based industries and to network with peers and professionals!
The events will be held in
- Oulu at Oulu University on February 16 (register)
- Tampere at Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University on February 23 (register)
- Espoo at Aalto University on March 1 (register)
- Lappeenranta at LUT University on March 6 (register)
- Savonlinna at South Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences on March 7 (register)
- Turku at Åbo Akademi on March 21.

Apply for scholarships by March 15, 2024
PI grants scholarships for students in the bioforest industry to support them in their studies and to promote their internationalisation. To be eligible for a scholarship you must be a PI member.
Scholarships granted in spring are:
- Student scholarship
- Graduation with distinction scholarship
- Andritz Oy award
- C.J. Jansson Award
- Influencer for a woodbased future award
Apply now but no later than March 15, 2024. We will inform the recipients of the scholarships personally.
